Sabry Ragheb
Sabry Ragheb (1920-2000) was a painter who graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts 1952. Like Heshmat, Ragheb was at the time supported by the Ministry of Culture with a scholarship to fully concentrate on his art. In 1966, he was appointed Director of the Visual Arts Activities at the Heliopolis Housing Company. In this capacity, he oversaw the artistic embellishment of Maryland Gardens, introducing sculpture gardens, and in 1970 he established an art museum there. Ragheb was appointed Art Counsellor and tasked with the artistic decoration of the Cairo Sports Stadium in Nasr City, where a work of art by Heshmat can also be found today.
Sabry Ragheb / Hussein Bicar / Georges Bahgory
All three artists portrayed Hassan Heshmat in their own very typical style. Ragheb and Bicar were known as masters of portrait-painting, while Bahgory was also famous for his caricatures.
